Terms of Service

Last updated October 14, 2026

Drop plans a business's delivery routes, sends them to its drivers, keeps time-stamped proof and emails its customers. Delivery times are estimated windows, and Drop never handles money. You pay through the App Store and can cancel anytime.

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Illuminant Inc, a California corporation (“Illuminant”, “we”, “us”). They cover Drop: the Drop app for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch (listed in the App Store as Illuminant Drop), the tracking, proof and route pages it creates, and drop.illuminantinc.com (together, “Drop”). By creating an account, joining a business or using Drop, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. For the information you enter about your customers, our Data Processing Addendum is part of these Terms.

Customers who open a link from a business don’t need an account; the notice to customers explains what applies to them.

1. What Drop is, and what it isn’t

Drop is a delivery app for small businesses that deliver their own goods. The office pastes or imports the day’s orders; Drop maps the addresses, plans a route for each driver and sends it to their iPhone. Drivers take proof at each stop, and customers get emails in the business’s name.

  • Delivery times are estimates. Drop shows them as windows, never as a promised time. Traffic, weather, the order of stops and the driver’s day all change them.
  • Routes are suggestions. Drop doesn’t promise that a route is the fastest, or that it is legal or suitable for your vehicle. Drivers must follow road rules, signs and their own judgment, and must never use the phone while driving. Siri and the Apple Watch are there so the driver doesn’t have to.
  • Proof is a record. Drop keeps time-stamped photos, signatures and notes exactly as captured, with a fingerprint of each file. How much weight that record carries in a dispute depends on the facts.
  • Drop never handles money. It doesn’t process, collect, hold or transfer any payment. Cash on delivery is only a note the driver marks.
  • Drop doesn’t send text messages. Customer messages are emails.

2. Who can use Drop

  • You need to be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract.
  • Drop is offered to businesses in the United States, for deliveries in the United States.
  • You sign in with Apple. You’re responsible for keeping your Apple account and devices secure and for what happens under your account.

3. Businesses and members

A business is the company and the records you manage in Drop.

  • The owner created the business and is responsible for it and its subscription. The owner can invite and remove members.
  • Dispatchers work in the office: they enter orders, plan and send routes, and follow the day.
  • Drivers receive routes on their iPhone, make deliveries and take proof.
  • Invites. People join with an invite link or code that works once and expires after 7 days. Send it only to the person you mean to invite.
  • Route links for temporary drivers. You can share a day’s route with someone who doesn’t have an account. Anyone with the link sees that day’s stops, including customers’ names, addresses, phone numbers and instructions, until the day after the route’s date or until you turn it off. Share it only with the person driving.
  • If the owner deletes their account, the business closes after a 30-day grace period, and its other members are told by email.

4. Your customers’ information

You decide what to record about your customers, and you’re responsible for having the right to enter it in Drop and to email your customers about their deliveries. In particular:

  • record only what your deliveries need, keep it accurate, and use it only for your deliveries;
  • Drop’s emails carry your business’s name and an unsubscribe link. Use them only for deliveries, and follow the CAN-SPAM Act and other laws that apply to you;
  • don’t enter sensitive information: no medication names, health conditions, payment card numbers or ID numbers. Use order references instead;
  • answer your customers’ requests about their information. We’ll help you.

For the information you enter about customers, we act on your behalf and use it only to provide Drop, as the Data Processing Addendum and the Privacy Policy describe.

5. Drivers’ location

Drop uses a driver’s location only during an active route, from “Start route” to “End route”. You’re responsible for telling your drivers how Drop uses location; the driver location notice is written for that, and you can print it and hand it out. Follow the laws where you operate on notifying employees about electronic monitoring (for example, in New York and Connecticut).

6. Subscriptions, trials and billing

  • Paying through Apple. Drop’s plans are sold through Apple’s App Store and billed to your Apple account. Apple’s terms and payment policies also apply. We never see your payment card.
  • Plans. Current plans, prices and limits are in the app and on our pricing page. A subscription covers the business it was bought for. Prices may vary by region and may include taxes.
  • Free trial. Drop 10 starts with a 14-day free trial, once per business, as offered in the App Store. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, your subscription starts and you’re charged.
  • Limits. A plan’s driver limit counts the drivers sent out on a day. Stops per day are soft limits: going over now and then doesn’t stop your deliveries.
  • Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Cancel in your iPhone’s Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions. You keep your plan until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
  • Refunds. Apple handles all refunds under its policies (reportaproblem.apple.com). When Apple refunds a purchase, the plan it paid for ends.
  • When a paid plan ends. After a 3-day grace period the business becomes view-only until the owner picks a plan or chooses to continue on Free. Exports stay available. Free covers 1 driver and 25 stops a day, keeps proof for 30 days, and adds a “Sent with Drop” line to customer emails (as during the trial).
  • Price changes. We’ll give you notice through Apple before a price increase applies to you, and Apple will ask for your consent where required.

7. Acceptable use

Don’t use Drop to:

  • send spam, or email anyone about anything but their delivery;
  • track anyone’s location unlawfully, or track a driver outside their work;
  • use a tracking, proof or route link to follow, harass or threaten anyone;
  • record or share information you don’t have the right to;
  • access another business’s records, probe or disrupt our systems, scrape Drop, reverse-engineer the apps beyond what the law allows, or use automated tools to access Drop;
  • break any law.

8. Your content and ours

“Your content” is what you, your members and your drivers put into Drop: customers, orders, routes, proof, notes and settings.

  • You keep all rights in your content.
  • You give Illuminant a limited license to store, process, transmit and display it only to provide Drop to you, your members and your customers, and to keep it working safely, including through the service providers on our subprocessors page.
  • We don’t sell your content, don’t use it for advertising, and don’t use it to train AI models.
  • If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without owing you anything.

Drop’s software, design and name belong to Illuminant and its licensors. Subject to these Terms, we give you a personal, non-transferable license to use the Drop apps on Apple devices you own or control.

9. Suspension and ending your account

  • You can stop at any time. Cancel your subscription, export your records, and delete your business or your account in the app (see the Privacy Policy).
  • We may suspend or end access if you break these Terms, if we’re required to by law, or to protect customers, drivers, other people or Drop. Where it’s safe and lawful, we’ll tell you why and give you a chance to fix the problem.
  • If we end Drop as a whole, we will give at least 60 days’ notice where we can, and you can export your records during that time. Any refunds are handled through Apple.

Sections 1, 8 (the feedback and ownership parts), 10, 11 and 12 continue to apply after your account ends.

10. Disclaimers

Drop is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, Illuminant disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. In particular, we don’t promise that:

  • estimated delivery windows will be met;
  • routes are the fastest, shortest, or suitable for your vehicle;
  • addresses are found and placed on the map correctly;
  • arrival at a stop is always noticed;
  • emails, notifications or Live Activities will arrive on time, or at all.

Some states don’t allow these disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows:

  • Illuminant is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, revenue, profits or goodwill, arising from Drop.
  • This includes late, missed or failed deliveries, lost or damaged goods, and disputes with your customers.
  • Our total liability for all claims about Drop is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid for Drop in the 12 months before the claim, and (b) US $100.

These limits don’t apply to liability that can’t be limited by law, such as for gross negligence, fraud or willful misconduct.

12. Disputes and governing law

  • California law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
  • Talk to us first. If you have a problem, write to us at support@illuminantinc.com first and give us 30 days to try to resolve it.
  • Courts. If we can’t resolve it, either of us may bring a claim in the state or federal courts located in Orange County, California, and we both consent to their jurisdiction.
  • Small claims. Either of us may use small claims court instead, if the claim qualifies.
  • Your consumer rights are unaffected. Nothing here limits rights you have under the consumer protection laws of the state where you live.

13. Apple

The Drop apps are distributed through Apple’s App Store, so these terms also apply between you and us:

  • These Terms are between you and Illuminant only, not Apple. Illuminant, not Apple, is responsible for the apps and their content.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the apps.
  • If an app fails to meet an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the app’s purchase price, if any. Apple has no other warranty obligation for the apps.
  • Illuminant, not Apple, is responsible for any claims about the apps, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer protection and privacy claims, and any claim that an app infringes someone’s intellectual property.
  • You confirm that you are not in a country subject to a US government embargo and are not on a US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
  • You also agree to follow the terms of any third-party service you use with the apps, such as your phone carrier.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as Drop changes. For meaningful changes we’ll tell businesses in the app at least 30 days before they take effect, unless a change is needed sooner for legal or safety reasons. If you keep using Drop after the changes take effect, you accept them. If you don’t agree, you can cancel, export your records and delete your account.

15. General

  • These Terms, together with the Data Processing Addendum and the policies they mention, are the whole agreement between you and us about Drop.
  • If a court finds part of them unenforceable, the rest still applies.
  • If we don’t enforce a term right away, we haven’t given up the right to enforce it later.
  • You may not transfer these Terms to someone else. We may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, with notice to you.
  • Neither of us is responsible for delays caused by events beyond reasonable control, such as network or power failures.
