Drop › Propane, fuel and route businesses
For businesses that run the same routes every week
Route planning for propane, fuel and route businesses
Tank fills, laundry pickups, print jobs, parts to the body shops, trees to the landscapers. If your trucks visit many of the same places every week, Drop keeps those routes ready, puts them on your drivers’ iPhones, and keeps a photo of every stop.
Recurring routes that build themselves
Save a day as a template, such as the Tuesday north loop or the Monday, Wednesday and Friday shop run, and Drop creates it the day before. Add the one-off orders and the will-calls, tap Optimize, and Drop fits them in. Recurring routes are part of Drop 10.
New customers come in however they come in. Paste a text thread or an email, import last season’s customer spreadsheet (Drop remembers your columns for next time), or scan a printed order sheet with the iPhone camera.
Gallons, items and counts on every stop
Put what the stop needs in the order notes, such as “Fill to 80%, tank behind garage” or “3 bags out, 2 in,” and give each order an item count. The driver sees both on the stop card. Set how long each stop takes, from a few minutes for a parts drop to fifteen for a tank fill, and Drop plans the day around it.
With Drop 10, set each truck’s capacity. Drop won’t plan more items onto a route than the truck can carry, and splits the rest across your other drivers.
On the road
- The next stop on the iPhone Lock Screen, and one tap to Apple Maps, Google Maps or Waze.
- Drop notices the arrival on its own. Delivered takes two taps, with a photo stamped with the time and place.
- No signal at the end of a long gravel drive? Drop works offline and sends everything when the signal returns.
- Hands full? Ask Siri “What’s my next stop?” or tap Arrived and Delivered on Apple Watch.
- Location is recorded only between Start route and End route. Never after hours.
The numbers at the end of the week
Drop reports each day’s on-time rate, time on route, miles and cost per stop, and emails the owner a summary every Monday. Export every stop as a CSV for your books on Drop 3 and up. Drop 25 adds driver hours reports and more than one depot.
What it costs
One owner-operator can run Drop free, with up to 25 stops a day. Drop 3 is $29 a month ($290 a year) for up to three drivers on the road on a given day. Most route businesses wantDrop 10 at $49 a month for recurring routes and truck capacity; it starts with a14-day free trial. Compare every plan.
